STICKY SESAME CAULIFLOWER AND TOFU

We love sticky sesame cauliflower, we love sticky sesame tofu, so why not throw those two together? This dish is so easy to make and it turned out delicious, you have to try this one!

Serves 2

1 block tofu (10 oz), cubed ½ head of cauliflower, cut into florets 3 tbsp cornstarch 2 tbsp vegetable oil 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated 2 garlic cloves, minced 6 tbsp soy sauce or tamari 3 tbsp water 1+½ tbsp maple syrup 1 tbsp lemon juice 1 tsp toasted sesame oil toasted sesame seeds serve with rice

Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F (Fan). Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Put the tofu cubes in a bowl and add 2 tbsp of cornstarch. Toss until evenly coated. Put the tofu and cauliflower florets on the baking tray. Drizzle with the oil and roast in the oven for 20-30 minutes or until the cauliflower is soft. Flip everything over halfway through. In the meantime mix together ginger, garlic, soy sauce, water, maple syrup and lemon juice for the sauce. Add the one tbsp of cornstarch (mix the starch with a little bit of water before adding it so it doesn’t form clumps). When your cauliflower and tofu are ready, heat up a saucepan on medium heat and add in the sauce. Add in the cauliflower and tofu and stir continuously until the sauce is starting to thicken. When the sauce has thickened and everything is coated, remove from heat. Drizzle over sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
