We promised you our super quick french toast recipe and here it is! Our vegan brioche works heavenly for this. But you can use any good light bread you have on hand. We topped this french toast with our stewed pears with raspberries, maple syrup and walnuts.
4-6 thick slices of vegan brioche (or other light bread) 1 cup of vegan cream 4 tbsp maple syrup 3 tbsp vegan butter vanilla or cinnamon (optional)
In a big shallow plate or a small baking tray, whisk together cream and maple syrup. Add vanilla or cinnamon at this point if desired. Place the bread slices in the mixture and let soak for one or two minutes on each side until the cream is completely absorbed. Heat the butter over medium-high heat in a large-bottomed skillet until it’s sizzling. Fry the bread on both sides in the butter until golden brown. Serve with favorite toppings.
